Jesus Is Our Mediator (1)

The Sunday lesson for October 4, 2020

Jesus Is Our Mediator (1) (Hebrews 12:22-24)

Phillip Stuckey, October 4, 2020
Part of the A Study of Christ series, preached at a Sunday Morning service

As children of God, we need to grow in our knowledge and relationship with Jesus (John 17:3). We have been reflecting on His attributes, titles, and the uniqueness of His person. In this lesson, we want to begin to look at the work Jesus accomplishes for God and us. One of the roles Jesus has is that He is a mediator between God and man (1 Tim. 2:5-6).

Hebrews 12:22–24 (Listen)

22 But you have come to Mount Zion and to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to innumerable angels in festal gathering, 23 and to the assembly of the firstborn who are enrolled in heaven, and to God, the judge of all, and to the spirits of the righteous made perfect, 24 and to Jesus, the mediator of a new covenant, and to the sprinkled blood that speaks a better word than the blood of Abel.
