Testing Our Resolve (Proverbs 3:5-8)

Phillip Stuckey, July 19, 2015
Part of the Miscellaneous series, preached at a Sunday Evening service

The writer of proverbs encourages his son to fully trust in God (Pro. 3:5-8).This is sound advice as God is greater and wiser than man can fathom (Isa. 55:8-9).God has revealed His wisdom by His word to guide us (Psa. 119:105). But do we really trust the LORD with all our heart? Listen as we consider four challenging teachings of Jesus that test our resolve.

Proverbs 3:5–8 (Listen)

  Trust in the LORD with all your heart,
    and do not lean on your own understanding.
  In all your ways acknowledge him,
    and he will make straight your paths.
  Be not wise in your own eyes;
    fear the LORD, and turn away from evil.
  It will be healing to your flesh
    and refreshment to your bones.
