Focus On Hell (John 5:28-29)

Phillip Stuckey, December 31, 2017
Part of the Miscellaneous series, preached at a Sunday Evening service

There are many wonderful and pleasant things written in God’s word. We read about God’s love, grace, mercy, and compassion in Jesus (John 3:16; 1 John 4:8). We read about an eternal home and rest with God when this life is over (Rev. 22:1-5). But the Bible also talks about things we don’t like to really think about. We read about God’s wrath, fury, judgment and hell (Rom. 11:22; Matt. 7:13-14). We all need to know and respect the whole counsel of God. Let us take a moment to focus on what the Bible says about hell.

John 5:28–29 (Listen)

28 Do not marvel at this, for an hour is coming when all who are in the tombs will hear his voice 29 and come out, those who have done good to the resurrection of life, and those who have done evil to the resurrection of judgment.
