Jesus’ Titles (2) (Philippians 2:9-11)

Phillip Stuckey, July 26, 2020
Part of the A Study of Christ series, preached at a Sunday Morning service

As children of God, we need to grow in our knowledge and our relationship with the one who gave His life for us, Jesus Christ (John 17:3). One of the ways we can do that is to take note of the different ways Jesus is described and identified in Scripture. We began looking last month at some of the titles of Jesus and what they tell us about Him, namely that He is the one who fulfilled God’s promises and that He is worthy of glory and honor as the Christ, the Son of Man and the Son of God. In this lesson, let's notice four more titles and consider what they reveal to us about Jesus.

Philippians 2:9–11 (Listen)

Therefore God has highly exalted him and bestowed on him the name that is above every name, 10 so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, 11 and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
