The Church & The Preacher (Romans 10:14-15)

Phillip Stuckey, December 20, 2020
Part of the Miscellaneous series, preached at a Sunday Morning service

In our last lesson, we revisited what the church is, particularly the local church. We saw from Scripture that it isn’t an individual or a building, but a community of believers who are united by their faith in Christ to bring God glory (Eph. 4:11-16). Within the church are various needs that the members provide for one another. In this lesson, we want to refresh our minds on the work of preaching and the preacher’s relationship with the local church.

Romans 10:14–15 (Listen)

14 How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in him of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone preaching? 15 And how are they to preach unless they are sent? As it is written, “How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the good news!”
