Count Your Blessings
The Psalmist said, “Bless the LORD, O my soul, and all that is within me, bless His holy name! Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits,” (Psalm 103:1–2, ESV). Why do you think the psalmist exhorts his hearers not to forget God’s blessings and benefits? It is a sad how often we can easily see our trials and difficulties, but we have a hard time remembering all of the good things God has done for us (Deut. 6:10-12; cp. Jas. 1:17). When should you count your blessings? Let’s consider the familiar hymn, “Count Your Blessings” to find out.
